Scottish Trust Commisions Work
05 June 2011The Hebridean Trust purchased the Treshnish Isles (a site of Special Scientific Interest) in 2000 and the purpose of the Trust is to preserve and conserve the historical and natural heritage of the Hebrides and promote its understanding amongst visitors and residents.
The Hebridean Trust contacted AV Unit to source the display equipment required and to produce a video for the Hynish Centre on Tiree to increase the information available for its visitors.
Much of the Trust’s work has been to focus on increasing the numbers of visitors and their local expenditure whilst preserving the unique character of the islands.
In consultation with AV Unit’s Robert Frost, a specification for a 32” public display plasma screen, Armaguard plasma enclosure, weather resistant loudspeakers and ancillary equipment was created.
Due to the distance of the Hebrides from the mainland, the whole system was demonstrated and tested at AV Unit’s headquarters so that it could be transported and installed by local Trust staff.
The video for use at the Hynish Centre was created using still photographs, video clips and audio tracks which brings to life the evocative and enchanting atmosphere of the Isles and its varied bird and seal population.
Sleek Image for Afro Hair Show
02 June 2011Sleek International, the trusted UK brand synonymous with quality hair fashion, engaged the services of AV Unit for their exhibition stand at the 2011 Afro Hair & Beauty LIVE show.
Sleek required a large open stand for the exhibition held at the Business Design Centre in Islington at the end of May but wanted it to be a focus for the visitors. AV Unit worked with Sleek and their stand designers, John Davey Exhibitions, to design and install the lighting, trusses and audio visual equipment for the stand.
Adam Clark said: "We were conscious that Afro Hair & Beauty Live is the lifestyle event for young black women and therefore our lighting and effects needed to enhance the stand design and addbe of the highest quality. It needed to be modern, stylish and a reflection of Sleek’s image as a leader of fashion. Working in such a niche fashion arena was extremely enjoyable and satisfying for the team."
Sleek International was founded in 1989, originally as a cosmetics company, but in 1993 diversified into the ethnic hair extensions market. Since then Sleek has grown into one of the UK’s leading ethnic hair brands supplying over 500 retailers and offering an extensive range of quality human and synthetic hair, supplied as wigs, braids, wefts and hair pieces.
Afro Hair & Beauty LIVE was celebrating 30 years showcasing the very best brands in hair & beauty products. With over one hundred companies showcasing their latest products and services, the Sleek stand provided a real focus for the young fashion conscious visitors.
