"How to Engage all of an Audience" at Confex 2011

24 January 2011

Creative event production company, AV Unit, will use Confex to demonstrate the importance of engaging all the senses when interacting with an audience. It has been recognised for some time that there are three principal types of learning preference: visual, auditory and kinaesthetic. Recent research conducted by the company has shown that conference organisers may fail to engage at least 20% of their audience if they do not deliver information appropriate to all types of learners - particularly those with a kinaesthetic preference.

To demonstrate how individuals learn in different ways, AV Unit will be conducting a fun and simple test for visitors to their stand. The results will identify whether a person has a visual, auditory or kinaesthetic preference and suggest how best they receive information.

AV Unit provides a comprehensive range of audio visual services and has extensive experience in the more creative art of presentation. Adam Clark, Managing Director AV Unit, says: "Ensuring that 100% of any audience understands the key message is critical to the success of an event. At AV Unit, we talk to a client about how to deliver information in a manner designed to reach all three senses appropriate to all types of learner, and the technology and techniques utilised may include a physical experience for individuals, such as remote voting."

New to the event industry is a sensory touch table, activated by gestures and movements, which will be an important addition to the traditional audio and visual mediums. Visitors to Stand G300 will be able to experience this innovative piece of equipment which provides a collaborative and interactive workspace that can be used by one person or by groups in a number of applications.
