'Snow' Problem!
11 January 2010The cold snap is ‘snow’ problem with AV specialist’s own fire truck on standby
With the country in the grip of subzero temperatures and while the population shivers beneath the heaviest snow fall in decades, an East Anglian based audio visual specialist stands by the old adage of ‘the show must go on’.
AV Unit, whose head office is located in Suffolk, supplies events providers across the whole of the UK with a comprehensive range of in-house audio visual services and has, despite the extreme weather conditions, delivered on their promise at events across the country.
AV Unit’s managing director Adam Clark said: “With most of the UK grinding to a halt, we have made sure we have arrived with all our kit and crew on time at every event we’ve been booked for including three in London and one even in Liverpool.”
With events remaining a crucial component of business engagement and the audio visual element playing a pivotal role in their success, the Suffolk AV specialist said it would stop at nothing to avoid letting down their clients.
And one member of the team took this literally. Hamish Everitt, the firm’s Production Manager, who is a fire engine enthusiast and collector rolled out his prize possession, an Ex-Fire Service Four Wheel-drive Rescue Unit tough enough to handle any amount of the dreaded ‘white stuff’, to have on standby at their premises.
Adam Clark said: “When Hamish pulled up in his fire Truck I must admit, I had to laugh but no, he was serious.”
“He walked in the office with a grin on his face and declared ‘now we’re ready for anything’.”
The AV Unit team have admitted that they’ve not yet had to rely on the fire truck to get them through the snow but have said that it’s good to know it’s there, just in case!
