NFEA feedback on AV Unit
What kind of event did they produce for you?
AV Unit have been our partner at the NFEA Annual Conferences for the last few years - project managing and delivering the audio visual services and on-site technical support. The conference tends to have 150 delegates at a residential event over two/three days. Our brief has been for the AV Unit team to fully manage our AV requirements for the duration – including large staging for the main conference space with sound equipment, lighting and on screen visuals through back projection – as well as smaller staging in break out rooms. AV Unit also provided project management services such liaison with the venue, graphics production and brand awareness, speaker support, creative design and stage and set construction.
Were they able to come up with effective AV solutions to any issues which occurred prior to and during the event?
I can say that as well as AV Unit being a large organisation able to handle the bigger picture, they were also very good at thinking about the smallest details. I can truly say that I didn’t have to worry about the AV side at all – they thought about things that I hadn’t often considered! Hamish was a great on site manager for the AV team, the main contact for me and he had a great rapport with speakers themselves – providing them with tips for their presentations and the AV Unit team often worked under pressure to the wire to fix bugs within presentations that were bought in very last minute!
Did you feel they were progressing well with work in between meetings/catch up sessions?
I didn’t start working with the AV company right up until the event (due to being new in post) but I was impressed with their focus in the face to face logistical meeting before the event. Although the team had worked with NFEA before, they were still very detailed in their discussions. My experience of working with them during the event was very positive.
Would you say they encouraged a good client relationship with your company?
Definitely – we had regular catch up meetings throughout the event and a full debrief afterwards. We immediately starting talking to the team about our plans for this year’s event so that we could get the dates booked in with them for the very beginning!
